This wagon was used by the Hayes family who farmed east of Culgoa.  A wagon was used as the truck is used today. A settler often arrived at his block with wife, kids and household goods ready to start farming.  Hay from the paddocks, grain to market, often miles away and water in dry times was bought home by these wagons. 

This wagon has a unique wheel lubricator system.  The wheels have plugs in them into which oil was poured.  The oil then made its way to the axles thus saving the heavy jobs of removing wheels for greasing.
