As houses became more comfortable a few people decided to build their own homes from bricks made in this machine.  It was easier to make the bricks on site.  Different materials were used, mud or cement.  These homes were warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

An easy to see example is in the main street of Culgoa. Over the road from the shop.
